I use magnets for a variety of things:
1. When I do not want to pin the top, batting and backing together over a quilting frame, I use magnets to hold the layers together;
2. If I am loading a quilt backing that is longer than required, I often use the magnets to hold the backing onto the front bar. Using the
magnets is a quick way of loading and unloading that is quick and easy with no poking myself with pins; and
3. When I need to load a quilt and the backing is a queen or king size, placing the backing onto the back bar and working from the centre out to the left and right sides, the magnets are great to keep the backing from sliding off the back bar, the magnets become my "third" hand and I put the magnets on as I proceed along placing the backing on without the backing sliding off until I can affix them to the leader.
I purchased these magnets from Amazon.ca
